In January & February, all Portland/Metro area homeschoolers are invited to participate in the National Geography Bee and Scripps Howard National Spelling Bee! Hosted by Village Home at Beaverton Main Campus location, 5150 SW Watson. Contact office@villagehome.org or (503) 597-9100 with questions about any of the Bees. Students in grades four through eight can test their knowledge in all aspects of physical and cultural geography at the annual National Geographic Bee. The Qualifying Bee is on January 23, with the 100 top-ranked competitors in Oregon participating at the State Bee in March. State-level winners attend national championship in Washington, DC in May.

Sponsored by the EW Scripps Company and local spelling bee sponsors, the National Spelling Bee is the largest, most popular competition for word lovers in first through eighth grade. The winner of this Qualifying Bee advances to the Regional Bee sponsored by the Portland Tribune. Regional Bee winner travels to Washington, DC for the national competition. We are hosting a Spelling Bee Practice Session on January 17 from 3:30 – 4:30 on the main campus, 5150 SW Watson. Come to have fun with words! Register for the practice session here.
