Salem: Class Dismissed Screening

Fri, Oct 23, 7:00 pm, Sunnyslope Christian Reformed Church, Salem, OR

This is a FREE screening with refreshments following. http://classdismissedmovie.com/

Class Dismissed focuses on the topic of education, specifically, alternative ways of learning outside of the traditional classroom. There are many choices when it comes to teaching our children, and Class Dismissed asks some big questions:

–What does it mean to be educated in the 21st Century
–Is it possible to get an education without attending school?
–Can learning outside of the classroom really provide a nurturing and educationally rich experience in which children can grow and blossom?

Class Dismissed challenges its viewers to take a fresh look at what it means to be educated, and offer up a radical new way of thinking about the process of education.

Target audience: Anyone who homeschools currently, anyone thinking about homeschooling and allies of homeschooling. This movie is particularly moving for those folks who are unsure about homeschooling and wondering if it can be successful for their family.

PS – This is held at a church but is not a religious event. The documentary is inclusive of secular homeschooling. Village Home Education Resource Center is sponsoring this event.
