Rivers Day Program

Covid-19 Fall 2020 Update: Rivers will not meet in-person, indoors this fall and we are sad to see that option go away for now, but look forward to the time when we can safely return to our classroom community.

Current Offering for 2020/21 School Year until in-person, indoors resumes:
All-Virtual Rivers with Weekly Online Check-in (includes Thrively): One-hour weekly online zoom community connection time. During this time together, we will build community as well as a love of learning. In addition, we are thrilled to provide Rivers learners with a Thrively account (not the basic free version, which is also cool), where the teacher will occasionally check-in to see what interests (academic and beyond) your learner is pursuing independently. The online community time will happen on Friday Mornings at 9:30.
Cost: $200/10-week Session

Optional Add-On Rivers Fresh Air Learning Session:
In-person, small groups of up to 12 learning-together time on the Beaverton Campus (we will utilize the backlawn, rain or shine). The in-person sessions will be arranged in family-based cohorts (siblings together), so age ranges will be wider than usual. During their time together, we will use a variety of learning activities for in-person connection (community circle, read aloud, etc). Social distancing measures and other health and safety protocols will be in place, including state-mandated requirements for masks (details coming). We will schedule these sessions for Wednesday Morning and Afternoon.
Cost: $40/session. Available as a one-off add-on, for those enrolled in All-Virtual Rivers

Happy learning happens here. In Rivers, learners are academically and socially engaged and inspired to take ownership of their learning. This program is designed for homeschooling families looking for a classroom community part-time. The Village Home Day Program enters our 5th year in Fall 2020/21 with multiple cohorts in Beaverton. To join Rivers, submit an application, pay the Application Fee, and then schedule an interview. After the interview, a class visitation may be arranged with the instructor. Upon acceptance, a 10% deposit will is required to hold the spot in the cohort. Please note, this is NOT designed to be a comprehensive program — it is part-time only.
