We are the Robokids Strike Again, a team of six: Austin, Amelia, Taytlyn, Tesca, Timothy and Tylise. We build robots out of legos, program them, and bring them to competitions.
The robot that we built, uses an NXT, which is a mini computer.We program the NXT to tell the robot what to do.
We program the robot to do missions on a special "mat" to earn points.
On the mat are missions like a motor the robot needs to run, or a magnet to separate, or a fabric to test. Each mission the robot does, the more points you get. The most points possible is 400. Our team plans to get all 400 points, which isn't very easy since the robot only gets 2 1/2 minutes to achieve points. Here is a photo of our robot, Impossiblé Dos. (Spanish for "Impossible Two")
During the competition there are four judging categories, Robot Running, Technical Judging, Project Presentation, and Teamwork.
For our project presentation, we are incorperating nanotechnology into an all electric car. Our goal is to provide an affordable electric car enhanced by nanotechnology, with a larger range than today's electric vehicles.
