The GreenBook 9000

Our team has developed an energy-saving computer that can replace all of the library's current computers.

The keyboard has one nanowire under each key, and the average typing speed of the American population is 50 words per minute, so about 4 watts per key are generated from the nanowires. It's Flash drive only uses 0.4 watts.

The GreenBook uses 12 watts maximum, but with the flash drive and nanowire keyboard it only would require an input of about 8.4 watts, as opposed to most notebook computers which uses around 15-45 watts.

There are 81 computers at the library that require about 370 watts each, so if those were all GreenBooks, then they would need only 8.4 watts each. So, the total usage for computers is about 30,710 watts, and if they were all GreenBooks that would only be about 936 watts. That is 29774 watts saved, or 29.7 kilowatts.
