Village Home Family Camping is the highlight of the year for VH families with kids of all ages. Come and enjoy nature and get to know other VH families while you experience summer at this versatile, beautiful coastal park situated halfway up the Oregon coast, three miles south of the city of Florence. Honeyman is the second largest Oregon state park campground, offering more than 350 campsites, hiking trails, and miles of sand dunes between the park and the ocean. It’s also home to two natural freshwater lakes: Cleawox, which is great for swimming, and Woahink, which has a public boat ramp.  You can rent a canoe on-site to explore the lake. This campground is one of the best in the state — with something for everyone!  Please note, it is close to the beach, but because of the dunes, the beach is about a 10 minute drive from the campground.

There is ONE kind of camping spot (no yurts): For those who are curious, we opted NOT to reserve yurts because we went for a shorter weekend camping trip. If you want an explanation of why those two things are connected, please feel free to ask.

All sites are RV/TENT spots with ELECTRICITY (no sewer hookups for RV, but there is a water spigot for camping).  They are good for RVs or tents. To sign up for an RV or Tent spot, be online on monday morning May 1 at 9am to grab one. These cost $125 for the week (extra charge to cover the group picnic site); we have 21 sites f0r 21 lucky VH families. These spots sell out quickly, so we recommend being on the sign-up ball on May 1st to get yours.

Directions to Honeyman State Park

PaymentPlease note, reservations are made online only, and must be paid at the time of the reservation. Cancellations or changes made for any reason after July 1 are not refundable.

What do we do on the trip?  Most of the time, families “do their own thing” together.  Water activities at the freshwater lakes in the campground will surely be a feature, so bring floats, life jackets, etc. There’s also plenty of opportunity for sand dune play, tidepooling, beach fun, bike riding, canoeing,  hiking, and fishing. Don’t forget to bring “water shoes” – they are handy for the solar showers too. We have some group activities planned (tidepooling Friday morning), Sandboarding (Friday afternoon — extra charge for equipment) as well as campsite activities, potlucks, and group campfires. If you want to lead a campground activity — share your favorite nature art project, biology lesson, or just something fun to play as a group, let us know and we will add it to the schedule.
