DRA202 Tween Drama

Description: In this fun and high-energy class, we will use improvisation, theater games, physical and vocal warm-ups, and more to exercise our imaginations, learn to trust our fellow performers, and increase confidence and comfort on stage. In daily improvisation work, students will stretch their imaginations, bodies, and abilities to play off of each other. We will work on building trust, respect, and collaboration skills. We will also create a short performance for friends and family on the last day of each term.
Important Notes: Wear comfortable clothes in which you can easily move.

About the Instructor: RaChelle Schmidt, R

Rachelle is a single mom who is homeschooling her son. She earned a BS in Theater Arts from Portland State University, and has 20 years experience as a professional actress. She has been teaching acting to all ages for 3 years and is currently working as the Academy Director of the Portland office of John Robert Powers Acting and Modeling academy. She is passionate about sharing acting with young people mostly because it is fun, but beyond that, she knows first-hand how much acting can enrich your life.
